Easy Beachscapes and Landscapes Workshop

Using the instructor’s water flow technique, create a beachscape or landscape as we explore a variety of glass powder and frit techniques to easily create “painterly” glass imagery. In the first session, students identify water, sky, and beach elements and create components; some components will be created using a torch. In session two you will complete your final composition. Supplies included. Minimum age 14.

First Time Fusers

In this introduction to the art and techniques of fused glass you will gain the skills to create beautiful glass art through a mix of demonstrations and “hands on” practice. Learn to design, cut and fire glass with three projects that require fusing, slumping and draping techniques. Become familiar with the kiln firing process and how artists use time and temperature. This workshop is a prerequisite for most of our other workshops. A complimentary “two hour” Open Studio voucher is provided upon completion.

Discover Patterns in Pattern Bars

Pattern Bar techniques enable glass artists to add special interest to glass compositions. This workshop is suitable for those new to pattern bar techniques and those who would like to try different design compositions. Supplies included. Prerequisite: First Time Fusers or equivalent. 2026 Summer Camps

Glass Fusing Camp (Ages 10-12)

Explore the creation of fused glass objects. Over the five-day camp, you’ll learn to design and make a variety of glass items. Starting with learning to cut and design glass, each day will bring new methods to make a variety of glass items, including a plate or glass vase/candle holder, jewelry, a clock, and pocket vase. Supplies included

Glass Fusing Camp for Teens (Ages 12-16)

Develop your inner artist while learning new skills. Students will have daily opportunities to observe and discuss various sources for inspiration and creative direction, then apply their vision towards designing and creating fused glass art works. Learn basic fused glass skills, find new creative inspiration, and go home with five or more glass projects. No previous experience needed. Supplies included.

Small Treasures Art Glass Camp (Ages 10-12)

Have fun at the Art Glass Center creating little glass treasures! Learn basic glass techniques while creating a variety of glass projects including a dish, mirror, cast plant, jewelry, and a dichroic glass treasure box.  You will also complete a recycled glass project. All supplies included

Wednesday Evening glass series

Join the fun this fall at the AGCs new Wednesday evening Glass Series.  In each workshop, students will learn a different skill or technique, all chosen to expand their skill set and nourish their creative spirit.  Each workshop will be taught by our Resident Artists and you can register for one or more workshops. Nature’s Suncatcher Workshop                                   

Brighten your day any time of year while learning some new techniques in glass.  During this one day workshop each participant will create 2 suncatchers to hang in a window or display in the garden.  Participants will work on cutting shapes and get an introduction to using a variety of glass frit.  Work at a relaxed pace and learn as you go.  Your work will be available to pick up the following day!  Prerequisite: First Time Fusers or permission of instructor. Flow II:  Footed Glass Sculpture Workshop

Use flow techniques to create a beautiful footed glass sculpture. This workshop includes the creation of a one-time use refractory mold for your artwork. First, you create and fire a thick glass tile, setting the color and flow design for your artwork. In session 2 In the second session, design and prepare a custom one-time-use mold, then assemble your work in the kiln to fire. In the third session, we closely monitor the firing process, watching as the glass flows and falls. On Monday, you’ll unmold and delight in your finished sculpture. All supplies are provided. Birch Tree Landscapes Workshop    

Create a beautiful birch tree landscape using a variety of glass cutting and frit techniques.  You will get more comfortable working independently in the studio while creating your forest scene.  Whether you are inspired by spring, summer winter or fall this class will provide some ideas and techniques to build and lovely birch tree landscape.  On day one you will work on the background and the following day you will build depth and interest by adding additional details to your landscape. Explore Kiln Carving Workshop

In this class we will work with fiber paper to design a picture or pattern in the glass.  Who hasn’t looked at bas-relief and marveled at the combination of line depth and texture.  We can do this with glass.  We will discuss design elements to consider the play of positive and negative space in the formation of your glass piece.  You may also incorporate a stencil image over you kiln carving. Flow and Form Glass Workshop

Explore the dynamic beauty of glass in motion as you experiment with two expressive flow techniques. Shape your own custom sheet using the pressed glass method, perfect for transforming into a bowl, tile, or drape. Then, create a second project using the innovative slider technique developed by your instructor. Monday’s session is for coldworking and slump firings. All supplies are provided. Recycled Glass to Artwork Workshop 

Create functional and sculptural objects using window glass and tempered glass shelves. Learn the quirks that separate the use of this glass from the glass more typically used in fusing.  Techniques range from fusing with tempered glass (the glass that shatters into jewel-like pieces) to adding imagery, color and form to float/window glass. The workshop includes test pieces to learn the techniques and the completion of a larger piece using one or more of those techniques.  All levels welcome. Make a Menorah Workshop

Learn the glass techniques needed to create a one-of-a-kind Menorah. A variety of design options will be available for students to choose from. Basic glass cutting and assembling will be covered. Kiln Formed Holiday Ornaments Workshop

Sparkling glass ornaments are ideal for holiday gifts or family keepsakes. Start or continue a cherished tradition in our Holiday Workshop. Participants will design a custom glass sheet, which will be fired and cut to create 10 to 12 trees. The fun continues as you decorate your trees with fired glass balls, sparkles and ribbons. Students will also have the opportunity to create a sparkling wreath ornament. No prior fusing experience is required, and all supplies are provided. More info: michelerubinglass@outlook.com. Glass Crazy Quilt Workshop

Create a variety of patterned glass, using powders, stencils and various glass components. We’ll then cut patterned glass into shapes and incorporate them in various ways to create a final glass quilt project. You’ll be able to choose from several shape and design options for your final project, and you’ll have plenty of pattern pieces left over to create more glass quilts beyond this workshop! Previous cutting experience recommended. All supplies included. Minimum age 14.

Shifting Strips Workshop

Have you admired glass with colorful glass strips placed on edge? This class covers design, planning, and creation of strip- pieced objects that can be wall art or slumped into a functional form. You’ll learn to estimate the glass you need, techniques to cut precision strips, and create an organic focal point. New to this technique or not, you’ll learn tricks to make wonderful designs with streamlined approaches developed after years of practice -making the creation of complex patterns a cinch― and FUN―to do. After the initial fuse, you’ll work with cold-working equipment techniques to create the final shape and finish. Prerequisite: First Time Fusers or equivalent. Supplies included. Minimum age 14 or permission of instructor.

Making and Working with Bubbles Workshop

In this class you will learn techniques for making and working with bubbles. Inspired by the bubbles on the wind in spring air. Can you catch one or more? Can you make them line up? Bubbles in glass can be a caution or you can embrace their wonder. We will explore ways to catch and play with them. You will have the additional option to make/create a stencil. Supplies included. Prerequisite: First Time Fusers or permission from the instructor. Minimum age 14.

Glass Reactions with Silver Workshop

Explore the array of Bullseye glass containing minerals and metals. Find out the effects of combining the glass in various ways to produce a chemical reaction and introducing silver as a reactive component. Students will create a variety of samples which will be used as a reference to create their final project. No prerequisites, but glass cutting experience recommended. All supplies included. Minimum age 14.
